Spatiotemporal investigation of wet–cold compound events in Greece

چکیده

Abstract. Climate change is set to affect extreme climate and meteorological events. The combination of interacting physical processes (climate drivers) across various spatial temporal scales resulting an event referred as compound event. complex geography topography Greece forms a variety regions with different local conditions affecting the daily minimum temperature precipitation distributions subsequently distribution events low high values. aim our study in this work identify these wet–cold based on observational data from Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) stations, which are divided into five geographical categories, period 1980–2004 coldest months year (November-April) monthly basis. Two available reanalysis products, that ERA-Interim downscaled Weather Research Forecasting (WRF) model at 5km horizontal resolution (WRF_5), coarser (∼30 km) ERA5 Reanalysis dataset European Centre for Medium-Range Forecasts (ECMWF), adopted derive gridded events, after performing comparison observations. results yield maximum HNMS probabilities range 0.07 % April 0.85 February, 0.4 2.97 February WRF_5 10.4 November 25.04 February. also displayed January December, order, highest WCCEs.

Modeling and Comparing Spatiotemporal Events

Spatiotemporal helixes constitute a novel method we developed for modeling changes in an object over time. Changes in both an object’s trajectory and its outline can be represented with these helixes. In addition, spatiotemporal helixes can be compared to determine whether multiple objects have undergone similar changes. In this paper, we present a method by which these helixes may be compared,...

Spatiotemporal rogue events in optical multiple filamentation.

The transient appearance of bright spots in the beam profile of optical filaments formed in xenon is experimentally investigated. Fluence profiles are recorded with high-speed optical cameras at the kilohertz repetition rate of the laser source. A statistical analysis reveals a thresholdlike appearance of heavy-tailed fluence distributions together with the transition from single to multiple fi...
